In the framework of teaching the natural sciences, “laboratory” is a general name for activities based on observations, tests, and experiments done by students. It is hard to imagine learning to do science, or learning about science, without doing laboratory. The school building is equipped with a neat and orderly laboratory having latest equipment where LPS scientist can explore outstanding work through day-to-day experiments to make the whole thing come alive.

A highly sophisticated and fully equipped Science lab that provides an open environment for students to experiment and do research work. The three divisions of the science department ensure that students do real experiments. Our science labs are a rich storehouse of equipment and the latest gadgets. All these labs are provided with well ventilated, and installed with fire extinguisher.

They are workshops of practical experiment going far beyond the boundaries of prescribed syllabus. The teachers at the Science lab challenge them with exciting projects, giving them a strenuous time clashing with known principles and existing data. This is a place where the divine curiosity of students is at toil.

The objective of Physics Laboratory is to demonstrate the principles of experimental practice in Physics and to show how measurement, experiment design & modern instrumentation can be used most effectively and to encourage the creative use of experimental & theoretical physics in areas which may be unacquainted.

Physics Laboratory at Lingaya’s Public school is equipped with all the latest lab apparatus. The lab is multi-faceted for students to nurture their technical skills. Their theoretical knowledge is put into practice by making the students experiment on topics like optics, measurement, electricity etc under the guidance of qualified teachers and trained lab assistants. The experiments carried out with intricate details here remain forever in the young minds once imbibed. The entire functioning is done as per standardized safety norms.

The students have a full- hand operation of measuring instruments, such as, Vernier Calipers, Screw Gauze, Spherometer, Traveling Microscope are some to mention. They are also provided with an experience in optical instruments, such as, Optical benches, Lasers, Spectrometers. We believe in making the students understand basic concepts in Physics & Applied Physics and also provide an exposure & understanding in latest technological changes in Physics & Physics related fields

Chemistry is a branch of science dealing with elements and the compounds and chemical reactions they undergo. A student of science is always inquisitive. The chemistry lab is the place where lot of unanswered questions come to the fore and are practically demonstrated to the students. A laboratory today requires compliance with stringent codes and standards. We have a well-equipped and spacious chemistry laboratory with the capacity to accommodate 40 students. We provide the latest facilities to students for qualitative as well as quantitative analysis according to C.B.S.E. syllabus. The purpose is to impart elementary knowledge and rudimentary practical techniques among the students. They learn and absorb much more through pragmatic experiments under the supervision of well qualified and experienced faculty members. The laboratory is designed following all the safety norms. The working table top is made of chemical proof high quality white ceramic tiles. Laboratory is well equipped with water treatment plant, electronic balances, electric hot plate, fire extinguisher, emergency water supply, medical kit etc., Lab coat is compulsory for students. Extra pure grade chemicals and borosilicate glass made apparatus are essential parts of the chemistry laboratory. Different models and charts have also been displayed all around the Lab. Students are given practical period twice a week.

The Chemistry laboratory is designed while keeping all the statutory norms and safety standards. It is well ventilated as well as spacious. In the lab, the students learn to handle apparatus and chemicals. It enables personal verification of important experimental facts. It is provided with the state- of- the art devices like- Fume hood, Distillation unit, Electronic weighing machine, Bunsen burners, beakers and flasks. Concealed gas line and the safety devices such as Firefighting equipment, First- Aid Kit etc. The acids and other reactive chemicals are stored in separate locked cupboards as a further precautionary measure. The students are provided with separate workstations with individual burners, pestle, clay triangles, watch glasses, crucibles, crucible tongs, chemical spoon, stirring rods, filter funnels and a variety of stoppers.

The lab has all the required infra-structure along with required Chemicals and Solutions and equipment as Test Tubes and holders, Beakers, Bunsen-Burners, Aprons, Exhaust Fans, Registered marked measuring instruments and proper water supply.

Observations and experiments make learning more interesting and exciting. Biology lab is well equipped with preserved specimens, slides, models and bio visual charts which emphasize on developing scientific temper among the students. Executing experiment is an interesting task. Students are guided for practical. students of other classes also make use of biology lab for innumerable activities related to general science, which help them to learn new-fangled concepts.

Lingaya’s  Public School vaunts an intricately designed Biology Laboratory planned to meet the demands of the advancement in Biological science. The ceramic worktops are heat resistant and storage cabinets are easily accessible. The laboratory apparatus ranges from simple slides, test-tube, Petri dishes to the composite microscopes of varying powers to observe samples and organisms closely. They are high-powered, extremely expensive, and sensitive pieces of equipment that can make even the smallest part of a single cell seem clear. All the microscopes with digital eyepieces and built in cameras are a great way to preview live colour digital images directly from microscope.

The students study detailed structures of morphological, histological and physiological aspects of plants and animals. Study of slides under the microscopes or studying the museum specimens kindles a natural curiosity towards Nature and instils a joy of learning the flora & fauna around us. All the equipment and specimens that we have in the lab are open for the school students to be used under careful supervision.

Lab is well-equipped with latest charts, models instruments, microscopes which gives relevant information about the unicellular and multicellular organisms by keeping the specimens of all multicellular organisms and deal with all questions on biological creation and experimentation. It answers all questions related to the physiology and explains the nature of human and animal formation. Hands on engagement with the subject material helps the students remember concepts thoroughly. The interactive board connected to a computer system and projector makes the biology lessons more effective and interesting. The exhaust system efficiently sustains a comfortable environment in the room even while performing experiments requiring chemicals that let out fumes.

The mathematics laboratory is a place where students can experiment and explore patterns and ideas. The maths lab provides an opportunity for the students to discover mathematics by doing i.e understanding the theorems and formulas. It takes the students’ knowledge beyond the curriculum. Mathematics laboratory is a self-explanatory lab with activities, in which students could come and engage in the work, continue working on the problems/tasks, and use teachers as and when they are stuck. Students should be comfortable with concepts covered in Algebra II, like solving systems of equations for unknowns. Pre-Calculus is helpful but not required; however, students will need to become familiar with the basic principles of adding vectors. It is a place where one can find a collection of mind games, puzzles and other learning materials. The materials are meant to be used by the students of primary and secondary to understand Mathematical concepts clearly. It helps them to explore the world of Mathematics and develops an interest in the subject.

The primary functions of a mathematics laboratory are to:

• Make mathematicsteaching and learning, interesting and purposeful for the students.
• Enable students to develop proper skills in handling equipment and gadgets

The School has a computer lab with over 30 computers in the lab accessible to students. It has advanced infrastructure in terms of cutting-edge hardware and software which cater to the requirements of the students, teachers and the curriculum. The school is equipped with a dedicated broadband Internet connection for enterprising students get a chance to be accustomed with the Internet. They do comprehensive research for their projects and presentations.

The department has qualified committed teachers to teach different classes at different levels i.e. Primary, Secondary Sr. Secondary. The faculty members make unceasing efforts to see that the students must get expertise in practical implementation of paraphernalia they have in their curriculum.

They are state-of-the-art with multimedia, most of them with 17″ LCD monitors that are easier on eyes, generate less heat and consume less power thereby keeping the classroom atmosphere comfortable for children. We use our own LAN with Windows XP for teaching-learning, documentation and presentations. Currently we can claim 1:1 as the ‘student to computer ratio’ on campus.

A lab assistant is always present during all computer lab hours open for student use. They are there to monitor the lab, report technical issues, and assist patrons with basic functions
